Xavier Williams was 10 years old and living in Tavares, Florida with his mother Kimberley Leonie Mills (38) and her boyfriend Andre Walker. Court records later revealed he suffered repeated physical abuse inside that home over a period of time before ultimately dying from his injuries.
According to arrest affidavits and court reporting, Xavier was duct-taped to a ladder inside the home. While restrained, dumbbells were dropped onto his body. He sustained blunt force trauma, burns, and extensive bruising. Medical professionals observed injuries in various stages of healing, suggesting ongoing abuse over time.
Witness statements referenced in charging documents included accounts from Xavier's younger sibling, who reportedly described witnessing violent acts in the home.
On February 22, 2025, Xavier was transported to AdventHealth Waterman in cardiac arrest. Hospital staff immediately noted severe trauma and contacted law enforcement. During resuscitation efforts, both Mills and Walker left the emergency room before later returning — that departure became part of the investigative record.
When Xavier arrived at AdventHealth Waterman in cardiac arrest, hospital staff immediately recognized the severity and pattern of his injuries and contacted law enforcement. The suspicious nature of his wounds — blunt force trauma, burns, and bruising in various stages of healing — triggered an immediate investigation.
Investigators obtained arrest affidavits documenting the abuse in detail. Statements from Xavier's younger sibling, who reportedly witnessed violent acts in the home, were referenced in charging documents. The fact that both Mills and Walker left the emergency room during resuscitation efforts also became a significant part of the investigative record.
Following Xavier's death on March 21, 2025, authorities formally classified the case as a homicide and both Kimberley Mills and Andre Walker were arrested and charged with first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse.
Xavier Williams was 10 years old. He should have been playing sports, going to school, dreaming about his future. Instead he spent his final weeks duct-taped to a ladder in the home where he was supposed to be safe, by the people who were supposed to love him most.
His mother — the person entrusted with his care — has been sentenced to life in prison. The man who helped take his life still awaits trial. Xavier's younger sibling witnessed things no child should ever see.
We will not forget Xavier's name. We will keep saying it until every person responsible is held fully accountable.
