Kamarie Holland was five years old, a preschool student living in Columbus, Georgia. Her father, Corey Holland of Phenix City, Alabama, held primary custody of her; she was the third of his four children. Kamarie was in her mother's care on the night she was taken.
Corey Holland later described the pain of losing his daughter as something that would never cease. Kamarie is buried at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
On the night of December 12, 2021, Kristy Siple, Kamarie's mother, agreed to allow Jeremy Williams to sexually abuse her five-year-old daughter in exchange for $2,500. Williams told Siple he would return Kamarie to her afterward. He never did.
On the morning of December 13, 2021, Siple reported Kamarie missing from her Columbus, Georgia, home, telling police and local news outlets that she had woken to find the front door open and her daughter gone. That same night, Kamarie's body was found in an abandoned house in Phenix City, Alabama, a property where Williams had previously lived. Investigators reviewing phone records determined Williams and Siple had been in contact the night before Kamarie disappeared. Deputies located Williams later that day using cellphone tracking and took him into custody at a motel in Phenix City, where he was found with his uncle.
Russell County Sheriff Heath Taylor said at the time that there were signs Kamarie had been sexually abused and that her death appeared to be the result of asphyxiation. On Christmas Day 2021, Williams gave a five-hour recorded statement to investigators in which he confessed to taking, sexually assaulting, and strangling Kamarie, and to forcing her to inhale methamphetamine. He also confessed to sexually abusing at least two other children, both under the age of six, abuses that had not previously been reported and were later confirmed by those victims, and to killing his own one-month-old daughter years earlier in Alaska.
Siple was arrested weeks later and charged with murder during a kidnapping, murder during rape, murder during sodomy, and human trafficking. Williams had a prior arrest in 2009 for allegedly abusing a three-year-old boy in Russell County; he was acquitted of those charges at the time.
Kristy Siple allows Jeremy Williams to take Kamarie in exchange for $2,500, with Williams agreeing to return her afterward. He does not.
Siple reports Kamarie missing that morning. That night, her body is found in an abandoned home in Phenix City, Alabama, and Williams is arrested at a nearby motel.
Williams gives a five-hour recorded confession to investigators, admitting to killing Kamarie and disclosing previously unreported abuse of at least two other children and the earlier killing of his own infant daughter in Alaska.
Siple is arrested and charged with murder during a kidnapping, murder during rape, murder during sodomy, and human trafficking.
Siple pleads guilty to human sex trafficking on March 13, agreeing to testify against Williams. Williams pleads guilty on March 26 to four counts of capital murder, obstruction of a corpse, recording the acts, rape, and sodomy.
Williams is sentenced to death in April 2024. Siple is sentenced in July 2024 to 20 years in prison, required to register as a sex offender and pay up to $10,000 in fines.
In 2025, Williams petitions to waive his remaining appeals and requests execution. Appellate courts uphold his sentence and find him mentally competent to forgo further appeals. He is executed by lethal injection on August 13, 2026, at William C. Holman Correctional Facility in Atmore, Alabama.
Investigators with the Russell County Sheriff's Office and Columbus Police Department reviewed phone records connecting Siple and Williams the night before Kamarie disappeared, then used cellphone tracking to locate Williams at the Bamboo Motel in Phenix City, where he was found with his uncle. Kamarie's body was discovered in an abandoned house Williams had previously lived in, near his former residence.
Williams's five-hour recorded confession on Christmas Day 2021 provided investigators with a detailed account of the crime and led to the disclosure of previously unreported abuse of other children, which was later confirmed independently by those victims, as well as his confession to killing his own infant daughter years earlier in Alaska.
Archival news coverage:
Jeremy Williams pleaded guilty to four counts of capital murder in Kamarie's death and was sentenced to death; he was executed in August 2026 after waiving his remaining appeals. Kristy Siple, Kamarie's mother, pleaded guilty to human sex trafficking for her role in allowing Williams access to her daughter and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. Kamarie's father, Corey Holland, was separately charged with child endangerment for allowing Kamarie to be in her mother's care that night in violation of a custody order; he was barred from attending Williams's execution as a result.
A court order barred Kamarie's father, who held primary custody, from allowing her to go with her mother. Kamarie was in her mother's care in violation of that order on the night she was taken. This case is a stark example of why custody orders restricting contact exist in the first place, and of how quickly a single violation can turn catastrophic when the parent gaining access is not equipped to keep a child safe.
Williams had been arrested in 2009 on allegations he abused a three-year-old boy, but was acquitted. An acquittal means the state could not meet its burden of proof at trial; it does not necessarily mean nothing happened. This case illustrates the real, ongoing risk that can remain in a community even after an allegation involving a child does not result in a conviction.
Williams's confession disclosed abuse of at least two additional children that had never been reported to authorities, both later confirmed independently by the victims themselves, as well as the previously unknown killing of his own infant daughter. This case is one more example of how a single investigation, pursued fully, can surface harm that would otherwise have remained hidden entirely.
Kamarie Holland was five years old. She was a preschooler, one of four children, a daughter her father fought to protect through the courts because he knew what was at stake. Her father said the pain of losing her would never cease, and it shouldn't have to. Kamarie deserved a childhood, a father who could keep her safe every single day, and a world that protected her the way every child deserves to be protected. She is remembered here, and she is not forgotten.
