About the Coalition
Standing With the Families Who Refuse to Stop Looking
We're a nonprofit dedicated to documenting unsolved cases, supporting families through crisis, and building a community that keeps looking long after the headlines fade.
Why We Exist
Every year, cases go cold not because they're unsolvable, but because there isn't the sustained attention, information, or advocacy to keep them moving. Families are left to do the work of investigators, journalists, and advocates all at once, often while grieving.
The Coalition for the Murdered & Missing exists to close that gap. We maintain a public case archive, offer direct guidance to families navigating the hardest days, and organize a community willing to keep a case visible for as long as it takes.
This work only happens because people choose to stay engaged.
What We Do
Case Archive
We maintain a detailed, regularly updated archive of unsolved murders, missing persons cases, and solved cases, organized so no case slips out of view.
Family Resources
Our Help Center gives families practical, judgment free guidance for navigating law enforcement, the media, and the earliest hours after someone goes missing.
Community Action
Through volunteers, donors, and shared cases, we keep pressure and attention on cases that would otherwise fade from view.
Why This Work Matters
Every case in this archive represents a family still waiting for answers. The scale of the problem in the U.S. is larger than most people realize.
600,000+
People reported missing in the U.S. every year
340,000+
Unsolved homicides in the U.S. since 1965
~50%
Of U.S. homicides go unsolved in a given year
